Sheikh Rashid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Municipality and Planning Department in the Emirate of Ajman, inaugurated the inauguration of the Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the CEO of the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, Masoud Mohammed Sharif, and the Advisor to the CEO and the Director General of Etisalat in the Northern Emirates, Abdulaziz Taryam. The director of the Transportation and Safety Department at Bee'ah, Nasser Al Shamsi, told "Emirates Today" that the self-driving bus is characterized by high-precision sensors and speed of response, as it monitors pedestrians and vehicles crossing the road with a distance of 20 to 30 meters in all directions. You can distinguish roadblocks and traffic lights, stop at a red traffic light, and walk at a green signal.

He explained that the bus is smart, and has 14 cameras, including eight external cameras, and six internal cameras, and is equipped with a “Wi-Fi” network to serve passengers. The public, as is the case with any vehicle on the road, without having a private lane.

He added that the smart bus is the first bus in the Emirate of Ajman, and that Bee'ah intends to launch self-driving buses in the future, pointing out that this bus was tested in the closed Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, and was launched to operate in public places, where the self-driving bus aims to transport tourists and individuals on Ajman Corniche Road in all safety and security.
