Frida Karlander is visually impaired and represents the National Association of the Visually Impaired in Västernorrland.

She thinks that the Swedish Transport Administration's decision to stop announcing departing and incoming trains and referring to reading on signs is very stupid.

- It shows once again that they did not understand that we do not absorb information in that way without listening, she says.

Exclamation is replaced with technology

The Swedish Transport Administration says that surveys show that this is how travelers want it and that the calls should be replaced with technology at the stations, the possibility of escorting and an app for telephones, which does not even exist.

"Stupid"

- When there are many trains, you need the confirmation that it is just my train so that you do not step on the wrong one.

The app can not help with that and then it is not ready and you remove the exclamation before the app is there, it is so stupid, says Frida Karlander.

- I do not think that you should put all the emphasis on the exclamation, even though I understand that it is important for the visually impaired, says the Swedish Transport Administration's press manager Bengt Olsson, who hopes that the change will go well.
