It was in October 2019 that the incident occurred in Kalix municipality and both the Police Authority and the Chancellor of Justice state that it was wrong to take the moose bodies and destroy them, but the man receives a lower compensation than he had hoped for.
He had asked for 35,000 kronor as he believes that the moose were worth it, even though he had only paid 10,000 kronor for them.
The Chancellor of Justice has now investigated the case and decided that the man will receive SEK 10,000 in compensation.
