Real estate sales to foreigners in Turkey achieved a growth of 38% during the first ten months of this year compared to the same period in 2020.

According to data compiled by Anadolu Agency from the Turkish Statistics Authority, on Monday, the total real estate sales to foreigners amounted to 43,372 properties during the period between January and October 2021.

Istanbul topped the list of Turkish states selling real estate to foreigners, with 20 thousand and 247 properties, followed by Antalya with 8 thousand and 640 properties, and then the capital, Ankara, with two thousand and 755 properties.

In terms of foreigners who buy the most real estate in Turkey, the Iranians topped the list with 7,188 properties, followed by the Iraqis with 6,547, then the Russians with 3,658, and the Afghans with 2,277 properties.

Omer Faruk Akbal, president of the Association for the Promotion of Real Estate Abroad (GIGDER), said they aim to sell 50,000 properties to foreigners in Turkey by the end of this year.

He added that they also aim to generate revenues of $10 billion from real estate sales to foreigners until the end of 2021.

Earlier, the Turkish Statistics Authority revealed that real estate sales in the country witnessed a growth of 14.9% during last October, compared to the same month last year 2020.
