The Libyan Electoral Commission had deleted a post posted on its Facebook page that stated that the commission had rejected Saif al-Islam Gaddafi's candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections.

The post appeared on the page for about 5 minutes, and stated that in light of the instability witnessed by the Commission and the closure of its offices due to Gaddafi's son's candidacy for the elections, it decided not to accept this candidacy.

For its part, the Office of the Military Prosecutor General in Libya called on the Electoral Commission to stop the candidacy procedures of both Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi and Haftar until they comply with the investigation.
