November 15, 2021 India has reopened its borders to all vaccinated tourists from 90 countries. The borders were closed from 24 March 2020. Travelers arriving in the country, according to the guidelines published by the Ministry of Health, must be vaccinated or have a Covid negative test obtained within 72 hours prior to the flight. Those coming from countries that have vaccination certificate mutual recognition agreements with India, such as the US, UK and most European countries, can enter the country without undergoing the test on arrival. The others, on the other hand, will have to carry out a quick test at the airport.



India reopened its borders to tourism as early as October 15, but only for organized groups of travelers on charter flights and with specific itineraries.

From today, however, it re-admits commercial flights.

To encourage the return of travelers, the country has announced that the first 500,000 visas will be free until March 2022.
