“Submit to the government of the Russian Federation analytical information on forecasting domestic prices for white sugar and vegetable oil, as well as agreed proposals aimed at preventing price increases for these products,” RIA Novosti quotes the text of the instruction.

Over the past 12 months, food prices on the global market have risen by almost a third.

The biggest increase was seen in the cost of vegetable oils, grains, sugar and dairy products.

In September 2021, global food prices increased by 1.2% compared to August and reached their highest level in the last ten years.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin had previously predicted the growth of the global food crisis.
