Yesterday evening, the National Meteorological Center reported that the stations of the National Seismological Network of the Center recorded two earthquakes in the same region in southern Iran, with magnitudes of 6.2 and 6.7 on the Richter scale.

He explained that the monitoring stations recorded the first earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 "Richter" at 16:07, according to the local time of the UAE, and it was lightly felt in the north and east of the country, but it was not effective at all, while the second earthquake occurred in the same area, after One minute from the first, but with a higher force of 6.7 degrees "Richter", at exactly 16:08, according to UAE local time.

According to the center, the other earthquake was slightly felt on the country, but without any effect, explaining that the two earthquakes occurred at a depth of 10 km, and their center was 200 km north of Ras Al Khaimah.

The center reassured the country's residents that there is no impact on the country as a result of these two earthquakes, noting that the cause of these earthquakes is the result of ground movement in the earthquake belt located in the Zagros Mountains region in southern Iran.
