United within the “Popular Movement, let's save Burkina Faso”, these civil society organizations denounce the abandonment of part of the populations under the dictates of armed terrorist groups. According to the leaders of this movement, the country is collapsing under the diktat of armed terrorist groups. With schools closed, more than a million and a half displaced people, the defense and security forces overwhelmed by the situation, Burkina Faso is living a dark part of its history.

Marcel Tankoano, president of the board of the “Popular Movement Save Burkina Faso”: “

Those who defend us today are totally overwhelmed by the enemies, by those who attack us, the terrorists.

You communities where there are no longer mayors or prefects and the populations are left to fend for themselves.

How are they going to do?

Are we really in a state of law?

"

"We had hopes that things would change"

The members of this popular movement, including the M21, the CAR and many other organizations that participated in the popular uprising of October 2014, hoped for a radical change after the fall of Blaise Compaoré according to their leader. They threaten to call for civil disobedience if security does not improve in the most affected regions, according to Marcel Tankoano. “

We cannot continue in this governance, it is not possible. As we were chasing Blaise Compaoré, we were hopeful that things would change. I had not gone out to make Blaise Compaoré leave and come and live like that. We cannot continue to wait. We are ready to do anything to save the Burkinabè

. "

Unlike the opposition parties who issue a one-month ultimatum to President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, this “

Popular Movement, let's save Burkina Faso

” gives no time limit for its call to demonstrate following the deterioration of the security situation.
