Wang Xiaohui, deputy minister of the CPC Central Committee’s Propaganda Department in charge of daily work, said that the “Resolution of the CPC Central Committee on Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party’s Centuries of Struggle” passed by the plenary session consists of seven parts, with two characteristics in content.
The Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing from November 8 to 11.
This is the third historical resolution in the 100-year history of the Chinese Communist Party.
Wang Xiaohui said that on the occasion of the founding of the party a hundred years ago, the Party Central Committee convened the Sixth Plenary Session to comprehensively summarize the party’s major achievements and historical experience in the century’s struggle. Consciousness embodies the self-confidence and responsibility of the party to keep in mind its original mission and carry on with the past.
Wang Xiaohui pointed out that in 1945 the Seventh Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Party formulated the "Resolution on Several Historical Issues", and in 1981 the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party formulated the "Resolution on Several Historical Issues of the Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic".
The two historical resolutions produced different historical conditions, backgrounds, and problems to be solved, but they were all made at important historical junctures, and both played an important role in promoting the development of the cause of the party and the people.
“Now, 76 years have passed since the formulation of the first historical resolution, and 40 years have passed since the formulation of the second historical resolution." Greatly move forward.
Standing at a new historical starting point, looking back on the past and looking forward to the future, a comprehensive and systematic summary of the party’s centuries of struggle, especially the past 40 years of reform and opening up, has both objective needs and subjective conditions.
According to Wang Xiaohui, the "Resolution" adopted by the plenary session consists of seven parts, with two characteristics in terms of content: the first is that it is different from the previous two historical resolutions, which mainly summarize the party’s historical lessons and distinguish historical right from wrong. Mainly summarize the party's major achievements and historical experience in a century of struggle.
From the founding of the party to the beginning of reform and opening up, major issues of right and wrong in the party’s history were basically resolved by the first two historical resolutions, and their basic statements and conclusions are still applicable to this day.
Since the reform and opening up, although there have been some problems in the work of the party, overall the development of the party and the country has been smooth, the direction of progress is correct, and the achievements have attracted worldwide attention.
The "Resolution" puts its focus on summarizing the party's major achievements and historical experience in a century of struggle. It is in line with reality and is conducive to promoting the wisdom of the whole party, enhancing unity, increasing confidence, and strengthening morale.
Wang Xiaohui further stated that the second feature is that the 20th, 30th, and 40th anniversary of the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Party have also been systematically summarized.
Based on this, this "Resolution" highlights the focus of the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uses a larger space to summarize the original ideas, transformative practices, breakthrough progress, and landmark results since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
