Unions of the

National Police

and professional associations of the

Civil Guard

have announced that they will call mobilizations against the reform of the citizen security law, known as the 'gag law', on the grounds that it creates defenselessness in members of the security forces.

The majority union of the Police,

Jupol

, has already set a date for these mobilizations and has announced that next November 27 it will call a demonstration in Madrid, under the protection of

Jusapol

, under the slogan

'No to citizen insecurity'

.

The general secretary of the Jupol Police union,

Aarón Rivero

, has indicated that the reform of the law, which begins its parliamentary process, involves "a frontal attack on the State security forces and bodies and the complete elimination of the principle of authority. that it must govern in the police forces of any democratic state ".

Rivero added that the initiative "does nothing more than put the agents of the authority at the feet of the horses, putting their physical integrity, that of their families and that of the rest of the citizens at risk for the benefit only of the violent protesters and of the delinquents ".

He has said this in statements to journalists after meeting with the Minister of the Interior,

Fernando Grande-Marlaska

, to whom he has expressed the "frontal and absolute" opposition of the majority

Police

union

to this reform.

For its part, the

Unified Police Union

(SUP) and the

Unified Association of Civil Guards

(AUGC) have joined forces to mobilize jointly against the reform.

"We are concerned about the reform of the withdrawal of the prohibition of recording images of police and civil guards in their work. The new measure puts us and our families at risk, especially in the areas of Spain where there is greater conflict and

police

and

civil guards

are the target of the violent, "they assure in a joint statement.

And they see "even more irrational to withdraw the work material to

the riot police

without foreseeing its replacement by a less harmful one, leaving the civil guards and police at the mercy of the violent ones," they add.

SUP

and

AUGC

have announced a calendar of joint mobilizations that will start with rallies before the delegations and sub-delegations of the Government of all Spain.

Marlaska has started a round of meetings with representatives of the agents of the security forces, to which the

Spanish Police Confederation

(CEP) will not attend, as announced this Thursday in a statement.

And it will not do so because "the reform of the citizen security law, the result of the agreement between the

PSOE

and

United We Can

, has been closed with its back to the police, without counting on the allegations and contributions of their representatives and generating a deep malaise among the professionals of the public security, who consider that this initiative will harm the police work in a considerable way. "

Next Monday, the minister has summoned the

Unified Police Union

(SUP).
