It was on May 28 this year that the 27-year-old Sundsvall resident was stabbed to death in the middle of an open street on Kungsholmen in Stockholm.

His comrade was also attacked and suffered severe knife injuries but survived.

Behind the attack were two brothers in their 20s and 25s and a young woman.

The prosecutor had demanded life imprisonment for the older brother, but the district court chose to differentiate between the attacks and thus also reduce the sentence to 16 and nine years in prison, respectively.

The reason is that the court considers that the incident was not preceded by any careful planning.

The older brother must pay damages of SEK 250,000 while the older brother must pay SEK 150,000.

In the clip, the family's plaintiff's lawyer comments on the verdict.
