Mohamed bin Zayed receives the US National Security Council's coordinator for the Middle East and a delegation from Congress

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received Brett McGurk, Coordinator of the US National Security Council for Middle East Affairs, and the accompanying delegation at Al Shatea Palace today.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed relations of strategic cooperation and joint coordination between the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America and ways to enhance them at various levels to serve the mutual interests of the two countries.

His Highness and the Coordinator of the US National Security Council also reviewed all issues and topics of common interest and exchanged views on them, especially developments in the Middle East region and joint work to build the foundations of security, peace and stability in the region.

The delegation accompanying the US official included Robert Malley, the special envoy to Iran, Stephanie Hallett, director of the National Security Council for Gulf Affairs, Garrett Blank, Senior Adviser, and Sean Murphy, Chargé d'Affairs at the US Embassy in the country.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Board of Directors, and Yousef Manea Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States of America.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had earlier received a delegation from the US Congress headed by Senator Benjamin Cardin, a member of the Senate.

His Highness welcomed the delegation's visit to the country, pointing out the importance of such visits to exchange views and ideas on various issues of common interest, especially issues in the Middle East.


His Highness and the Congress delegation discussed friendship and cooperation relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America in various fields and ways to develop these relations and develop their horizons to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

The meeting also dealt with a number of issues, developments of events in the Middle East and efforts to achieve peace and stability in it, in addition to issues of common interest, and they exchanged views on them, especially with regard to initiatives to build bridges of understanding and dialogue to build confidence among the countries of the region.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE's keenness and support for all efforts aimed at the permanent consolidation of security and stability in the region and the world in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, and for the benefit of the region and its peoples with goodness and peace.
