"The whole of the territory goes from green to orange and in places even to red", but "there is no inevitability that this fifth wave which may begin to take away the hospital" and this thanks to the vaccination, "a very strong immune shield".

The government spokesperson welcomed the fact that appointments for a booster dose of vaccine jumped in the wake of Emmanuel Macron's speech.

The Head of State announced Tuesday evening that the maintenance of the health pass for those over 65 would be conditioned, from December 15, by the injection of a booster dose, which will be able to benefit those over 50 years old. from the beginning of December.

Since then, "620,000 appointments have been made on Doctolib, which is three times more than the previous week" and "there was a record number of booster injections the day after the intervention of the President of the Republic, "he said.

"We have exceeded 4 million booster doses injected", for an eligible audience of 7.7 million people, added Mr. Attal.

"Since Tuesday, the recall campaign has shifted two or three gears."

Started on September 1, the recall campaign is aimed primarily at the most vulnerable groups (residents of Ephad and other people over 65, people with comorbidities or very immunocompromised) who must receive an additional dose of vaccine, 6 months minimum after full vaccination.

"The fifth wave will be that of unvaccinated and fragile people not recalled. Each injection takes a patient away from the hospital and brings us collectively closer to a calm winter," he insisted.

Mr. Macron again urged Tuesday the some 6 million French people "who have not received any dose" to be vaccinated, in the name of "the spirit of responsibility".
