"Effective protection of the border can be ensured only in the cooperation of all interested parties," TASS quoted Rybakov as saying at a meeting of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly.

He noted that Belarus is ready for such cooperation, including with the European Union.

The diplomat added that the Belarusian side expects sound pragmatism from the Western states.

According to him, more than 2 thousand migrants are now at the border.

Earlier, the Russian representative in the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, Stepan Kuzmenkov, said that Russia condemns attempts by Western countries to settle scores with Belarus by accusing them of fomenting the migration crisis.
