A murder investigation after the discovery of the body of a septuagenarian

A septuagenarian was found dead on Thursday at her home in Estagel (Pyrénées-Orientales), a town of about 2,000 inhabitants in the Agly valley, learned

from the Perpignan prosecutor's office.

It was her son, worried about not hearing from her, who discovered the lifeless body of this 78-year-old woman on his way home.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim presented traces of stab wounds.

A murder investigation has been opened.

An autopsy of the body is due next week.
