The half billion includes the rebuilding of the treatment plant that was to be adapted to the new sewage system in Oceanhamnen - a total of SEK 189 million.

Renovation of quays has cost the city SEK 133 million, the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge SEK 101 million, the theme playground SEK 47 million and connections to the shipyard bridge SEK 22 million.

So far, a total of SEK 492 million.

The figures come from Patrik Möller, head of development in Helsingborg.

Want the whole picture

- We have supported all investment decisions, but we have made small decisions all the way.

Before the next expansion, we want to make a comprehensive decision, says Marcus Friberg (MP) municipal councilor.

- If you look at the homes in Oceanhamnen, it is about the city subsidizing each home with more than one million kronor.

Christian Orsing (M) city planning committee sees the matter in a different way.

- These are investments that benefit the whole of Helsingborg, not least the pedestrian and bicycle bridge, the theme playground and public environments.

Sold building rights for 430 million

The costs for development - including remediation, public site land and water and sewerage - amount to SEK 350 million.

But there, the city has received revenue in the form of building rights that have been sold to companies, a total of over 430 million.

- There we have a positive net of SEK 70 million, says Patrik Möller, head of development in Helsingborg.

"Not all questions can be answered now"

The Oslo pier probably needs to be raised more than 3.5 meters above the water, as the Oslo pier is the outer protection against the sea.

The opposition now wants to know what it will all cost.

- It is important that the opposition via our officials get as much information as they can get, but I must emphasize where at the stage we are, it is not possible to answer all questions here and now, says Orsing (M).
