The National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) reported on November 11 local time that the stampede at the Houston Music Festival has resulted in 9 deaths.
On the 11th local time, the family of Bharti Shahani, the victim of the incident, confirmed the news at a press conference, saying that Shahani died of his injuries on the evening of the 10th.
On November 5th, local time, during the Houston Music Festival, when the popular American rapper Travis Scott performed on stage, fans were too excited and rushed to the stage to have a stampede.
So far, 9 people have died and 25 people have been sent to hospital for treatment.
According to reports, 300 people received emergency treatment at the scene that day.
The local police and fire department stated that the investigation into the stampede is still ongoing and condemned Travis Scott for neglecting the safety of the audience during the performance, which “encouraged” the radical emotions of the fans and led to the tragedy.
Scott’s team representative issued a statement on the 11th, stating that Scott and his team have been actively contacting the victims and their families of the incident, and hope to provide assistance to all victims as soon as possible.
Scott previously promised on the 8th that he would refund the tickets for all audiences at the festival and pay for the funeral expenses of the deceased.
