Qin Gang, my ambassador to the United States, visits American universities: As always, we support mutual learning and mutual learning between Chinese and American universities

  When meeting with Columbia University President Bollinger, Qin Gang said that Columbia University has a long history of friendship with China and has developed extensive cooperation with many Chinese universities in recent years. China appreciates this and hopes Columbia University will continue to strengthen exchanges with China and support Chinese. Teaching, protect the health and safety of Chinese students and scholars, and at the same time further play an active role to explain to the American society the nature of mutual benefit and win-win educational exchanges between China and the United States.

The Chinese Embassy and Consulate in the United States will continue to support mutual learning and mutual learning between Chinese and American universities and enhance the friendship between the two peoples.

  Bullinger said that Columbia University attaches great importance to its relations with China and welcomes Chinese students. Chinese students account for one-half of the total number of international students in the university.

Columbia University is committed to cultivating talents who understand contemporary China. It is also willing to strengthen cooperation with Chinese universities in areas such as climate change, and looks forward to playing a more active role in Sino-US relations.

  In a meeting with New York University President Hamilton, Qin Gang pointed out that NYU Shanghai is a landmark achievement of NYU's deepening of exchanges and cooperation with China, and an example of China's continued expansion of education and opening up to the outside world.

With the joint efforts of both China and the United States, Shanghai New York University has shown a good momentum of development and played a positive role in enhancing Sino-US friendship.

China will continue to deepen cooperation with New York University, promote Shanghai New York University to be better and better, and strive to create a successful example of China-US cultural exchanges and educational cooperation.

  Hamilton said that in the past two years, New York University and its Chinese partners have watched and helped to minimize the impact of the epidemic on students. This proves the importance of solidarity between China and the United States in difficult times.

Next year is the tenth anniversary of the founding of NYU Shanghai. Hamilton pointed out that he will maintain and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China and contribute to the health and stability of US-China relations.

  When visiting Chinese students from the two schools, Qin Gang said that the motherland cares about every student studying in the United States, and hopes that the students will be healthy and safe, and be successful in their studies, and be good messengers of the friendship between the people of China and the United States.
