The decision applies to employees in the following departments: oncology department 40, the cytostatics clinic, the oncologist's medical day care, medical day care in Ljungby and Växjö and the dialysis departments at each hospital.

To be able to work close to patients in the wards concerned, it is required that the staff have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, or have been ill with corona for the past six months.

- From a purely legal point of view, we can not demand that employees be vaccinated.

However, we have assessed that with reference to operational reasons, such as patient safety and infection control, it may be justified to require that only vaccinated staff work close to patients in these specific activities.

It is about advanced specialist healthcare with extra infectious patients, says Pontus Juhlin, HR director in a press release.

When new staff are to be recruited, you will need to be fully vaccinated in order to be employed by the region.
