The 17-year-old girl, found alive Tuesday evening in Mayenne after an unexplained disappearance while she had gone for a run, "has found her family" and "no arrest has been made" so far, said Wednesday evening the Laval prosecutor's office.

"The investigations on the place of the facts are approaching their end, which will allow the disengagement of the soldiers of the gendarmerie requested for this purpose", indicated in a press release the prosecutor of the Republic of Laval, Céline Maigné.

The Angers research section and the Château-Gontier research brigade "are continuing a meticulous work of hearings, requisitions, verifications to specify the course of the day during which the young girl disappeared, based in particular on her statements. She added.

A man taken into custody and then exonerated

The young girl "was taken in charge on the medical plan and was able to find her family", specified the magistrate, according to which "no interpellation intervened".

An investigation for kidnapping and forcible confinement was opened on Tuesday.

A man had been taken into custody Monday evening after this disappearance but he was exonerated, announced the prosecutor, earlier in the day.

"The investigations carried out made it possible to clarify the elements which motivated this measure (of placement in police custody) and to rule out the implication of the accused person", she indicated.

According to several media, this man had called the gendarmes on several occasions to try to obtain information on the disappearance of the young girl.

"Extremely shocked" when she reappeared

For their part, the gendarmes announced, late Wednesday afternoon, to have lifted the important device of 200 soldiers set up in the area of ​​the disappearance of the young girl.

"From now on, about sixty gendarmes (are) engaged in the investigations" and "the local gendarmerie units remain, within the framework of the service, vigilant", they specified.

The young high school student was found alive Tuesday evening in a restaurant in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, about ten kilometers from the area where she had gone jogging.

According to the mayor of the city Nicolas Leudière, she was "extremely shocked".
