Anna Chmielewska works for the Oscalenie foundation.

The organization collects clothes, shoes, water and sleeping bags for migrants gathered at the border between Belarus and Poland.

- They're having a hard time.

They have no roof over their heads, they have no tents, says Anna Chmielewska at the Oscalenie foundation.

About fifty people who crossed the border were arrested during the night by Polish police, and at the same time activist groups are accused of having helped migrants into Poland.

Buffer zone set up

A couple of kilometers from the border, Polish authorities have set up a buffer zone where all arrivals and departures are controlled.

- We are happy that the border guards and the military are here and keeping order at our border, says Pawel Miklasz, mayor of Kuznica.
