A large area around the landslide was cordoned off and during the week, Robert Hjelm has made a geotechnical investigation of the site on behalf of Skellefteå municipality.
- The slope is not stable and there is a risk of less race than what has already happened, he says.
Safe tree felling
What caused the landslide is not fully known.
According to Robert Hjelm, it is probably because the soil was very saturated with water after heavy rainfall.
During the day, specialists have come to the site to fell trees that are leaning dangerously after the landslide.
- It is very important that it can happen safely, says Robert Hjelm.
The land will then be stabilized and he believes that Maria Markgren - eventually - can move back to the villa again.
