Melnikov added that after the intervention of members of the POC, the administration of the pre-trial detention center promised to accept a donation for Zuev from his wife.

Rector Shaninki said that the lawyers submitted to the Moscow City Court a forensic medical examination about the presence of diseases that hindered his detention, but the court did not take it into account and changed the measure of restraint from house arrest to detention.
Zuev also told the POC that after the operation, the FSIN officer brought him to City Clinical Hospital No. 20, but he refused to be hospitalized there.
"In the City Clinical Hospital No. 20, prisoners are examined for the presence of diseases that prevent detention, but Zuev said that he would discuss the issue of such an examination with his lawyers," Melnikov said.
Earlier, lawyer Sergei Kozhura said that he would appeal the decision of the Moscow City Court to transfer Zuev from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center.
On October 13, the Tverskoy District Court ruled to send the rector of the university under house arrest until December 7.
Zuev is accused of embezzling over 21 million rubles.
