  • Nicaragua Ortega, to the Nicaraguan political prisoners: "You are sons of bitches of Yankee imperialism"

The United States has moved a tab after the self-coronation of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, so much he rides, he rides so much. President Joe Biden signed this Wednesday the so-called Renacer Law (Strengthening Nicaragua's Adherence to the Conditions for Electoral Reform), a legislative tool agreed by the Democratic Party and the Republican Party to

toughen the

personal

sanctions

against officials and frontmen of the regime Sandinista and to suppress international aid to the presidential couple.

The focus is on "new and existing loans or technical or financial assistance provided" by international organizations such as the IMF, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).

The US administration

is even willing to review Nicaragua's participation in the Free Trade Agreement

between the US, Central America and the Dominican Republic (DR-Cafta).

Despite the alliance with Venezuela, Cuba and Russia, the

United States remains

Managua's

main trading partner

, sending 62% of its exports to the "Northern Empire" and receiving 30% of its imports from there.

The pressure will continue not only against Ortega, Murillo and their eight children, some already sanctioned, but also against ministers, soldiers, police officers, magistrates of the Superior Electoral Council (CSE) and Sandinista militants who have participated in the

electoral "pantomime", such

as the defined Biden himself. The US will "encourage" the European Union, European countries and the region to sanction those already mentioned and those who violate human rights.

From that same Sunday, Washington was at the head of the nations that have shown their rejection of the electoral parody mounted by the revolutionary leader, who self-awarded

75% of the votes

on an electoral day marked by a very high abstention. The civil organization Urnas Abiertas verified how

participation did not even reach 20% of the electoral roll,

artificially stretched to 65% by the Superior Electoral Council (CSE). In addition, other experts confirmed to the 'Confidencial' portal, directed by Carlos Fernando Chamorro, that

at least one million ballots were added illegally

for the candidacy of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).

Coincidentally, the same number of votes that Chavismo put into the polls to clean up the very poor result of the elections to the National Constituent Assembly in 2017.

"The Renacer Law will prevent the regime from continuing to maneuver with impunity. It will establish an economic siege to the regime's operators to control the channels through which the front men have laundered capital. It will

establish permanent lines of investigation regarding the violation of freedom of expression

and certain covert operations in collaboration with Russia, "Alexa Zamora, leader of the opposition Blue and White National Unity, told EL MUNDO.

Backing in the House of Representatives from both parties advanced the law last week with 387 votes in favor and 35 against.

Among the latter, several members of the left wing of the Democratic Party stand out, such as

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez

(AOC) and Rashida Tlaib, but also two supporters of Donald Trump.

This position, based on an alleged non-interference in the affairs of other countries, provoked a barrage of criticism among activists against the three dictatorships on the continent.
