“The leaders discussed the humanitarian situation on the EU-Belarus border and expressed deep concern over the illegal migration flows,” the White House website said in a statement.
The parties also expressed their commitment to "the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
Earlier, von der Leyen said that the European Union is studying the possibility of introducing sanctions against airlines that deliver migrants to Belarus.
