On the 10th (today), the People's Power presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol and the Democratic Party's presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung met for the first time.
The two candidates shook hands and greeted each other at the Global Talent Forum 2021 VIP meeting held at Grand Walkerhill Seoul, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
Candidate Seok-Yeol Yoon first approached and asked for a handshake and said, "Nice to meet you. We met often in Seongnam court 20 years ago..." Candidate Jae-myung Lee replied, "I've seen it, but I don't remember it."
Candidate Jae-myung Lee said from the podium, "I am particularly pleased to see Candidate Seok-yeol Yoon here." Candidate Lee mentioned Candidate Yoon again at the end of his greeting speech, saying, "Today, there is also our Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol whom I respect."
Candidate Seok-Yeol Yoon stood under the stage and listened to Candidate Jae-Myung Lee's speech, and as Candidate Lee came down from the speech, he waved for a handshake and then went up to the podium. There was no mention of candidate Lee Jae-myung in Yoon's greeting speech.
The event was attended by Shim Sang-jung, the presidential candidate of the Justice Party, and the three presidential candidates gathered in one place. People's Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo did not attend.
Initially, the first meeting between Candidate Yoon and Candidate Lee was expected to take place at the 'National Women's Congress' held the day before, but the meeting was postponed as Candidate Lee canceled all schedules on the day due to his wife's fall accident.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Korea Vocational Competency Development Institute.It was held under the theme of 'ESG, and a sustainable future'.
