- It has been an ongoing problem since June.

We have tried to buy from different places.

Unfortunately, we have empty space in the store now, says Jörgen Westman.

The problem is confirmed by Axfood, which owns both Hemköp and Willys.

However, it can look different from store to store and differ from week to week, the group states.

At present, the market is being vacuumed to find more suppliers.

At the same time, there are alternatives.

- Most often in the form of other and unprofiled paper bags as well as reusable bags and plastic carrier bags made of recycled plastic.

So the hope is that it will not have to affect customers to any great extent.

As usual, the best bag is the one that is used several times, and we therefore encourage customers to continue to bring their own bags as far as possible, says Magnus Törnblom, press manager at Axfood.

The Ica group also confirms that there is a general shortage of paper bags.

- But right now there is no end to paper bags centrally at Ica, writes press officer Gabriella Ohlzon in a text message to SVT News.

In the video, you see how the lack of paper bags hits the store in Halmstad.
