Candidates for the LR congress debated for the first time Monday evening on LCI.
Guest of Sonia Mabrouk on Europe Matin Tuesday, the president of Hauts-de-France Xavier Bertrand returned to this debate and his chances of being nominated right-wing candidate for the presidential election.

Monday evening took place the first internal debate in the Republicans. "We gave the image of a team where it has differences but also the desire to win. Not only for our political family but also for France, because we are convinced that it is our ideas that will make it possible the country ", he assured.
"On the set yesterday, I think there was the next President of the Republic. The one who can beat Emmanuel Macron. And there is only at home," he continued.
Asked about the probability that Emmanuel Macron will be re-elected if he is not a candidate against him, Xavier Bertrand said he had "this conviction".
"It is not I who say that, it is the French who say it. The only one who is neck and neck with Emmanuel Macron and able to beat him is me."
