Travis Scott's behavior at the heart of the investigation

The criminal investigation is still ongoing.

It could last weeks or even longer, according to Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

The latter said authorities were reviewing the video footage and speaking to witnesses, concert organizers and people in hospital.

Among the focal points of the investigators' investigations: determining what knowledge of the situation Travis Scott had.

It was during his show, the last performance of the evening, that the situation worsened.

The police chief explains that he himself went to see the rapper he knows personally, several hours before the show, to share his concerns about the energy and management of the crowd.

According to other accounts, Travis Scott stopped performing when he saw his fans in distress near the stage.

In total, nearly 50,000 people were in the crowd of the Astroworld festival, where more than 360 police officers and 240 security guards were mobilized.

At around 9 p.m. local time, the crowd began to crowd the front of the stage, causing panic to begin and the first injuries.

Then people started to fall and lose consciousness, causing further panic, authorities said.
