As SVT previously reported, maternity care will receive a supplement of SEK 100 million that will improve the working environment.

The Stockholm Region is now announcing what the money will be used for.

- In a first important step, we will introduce "one midwife per delivery".

The work has already begun and the goal is for it to be completed within a year.

We are now earmarking SEK 100 million to provide financial conditions to go from word to deed, says Finance Regional Councilor Irene Svenonius (M), in a press release.

The decision on the additional SEK 100 million will be hammered out in the regional council on 16 November.
