Cairo -

Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb said that the call to the so-called "Abrahamic religion" is a call to confiscate freedom of belief, faith and choice, stressing that people's meeting on one religion or one divine message is impossible, pointing to the difference between respecting and recognizing the faith of the other, and that this does not It means dissolving the differences between faiths, religions and religions.

This came during Al-Tayeb's speech at the celebration of the "Egyptian Family House" on the 10th anniversary of its founding, in the presence of the Coptic Pope of Egypt, Tawadros II, and the heads of other churches in Egypt.

In 2011, the Egyptian Prime Minister at the time issued a decision to establish the Egyptian Family House headed by the Sheikh of Al-Azhar and the Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and its main headquarters is the Al-Azhar sheikhdom in Cairo. and prevent sectarian strife.

During the celebration, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar spoke about the confusion between the brotherhood of Islam and Christianity in defending the citizen's right to live in security, peace and stability, and the mixing of these two religions and the dissolution of the differences and divisions specific to each of them.

He added that this confusion comes "in light of the trends that claim that there can be one religion called the Abrahamic or the Abrahamic religion, and what these calls seem to aspire to by mixing Judaism, Christianity and Islam into one message or one religion upon which people gather, and save them from the wrath of disputes, And conflicts that lead to the loss of lives and bloodshed and armed wars between people, even between people of the same religion and believers of one faith.”

He pointed out, "We have not seen this new Brahimi baby until this moment, and we do not know anything about its features and features, and is it intended for believers in religions to cooperate on the commonalities and noble human values between them, or is it intended to create a new religion that has no color, taste or smell?"

Al-Tayeb considered that “this lawsuit is like the lawsuit of globalization, the end of history, global ethics and others, although it appears on the surface of its issue as a call for human meeting and unification and the elimination of the causes of its conflicts and struggles, but it is itself a call to confiscate the most precious possessions of humankind, which is represented in freedom of belief, freedom of belief, and freedom of choice.”

He stressed a Quranic fact confirmed by the Noble Qur’an and stipulated that God created people to be different, and that if He wanted to create them according to one religion, one color, one language, or one understanding of an action.

He stressed that the openness of Al-Azhar and its scholars to the churches of Egypt is not, as some portray it, an attempt to dissolve the differences between faiths, creeds and religions, adding that some of them "difficult to understand the difference between respecting the faith of the other and believing in it."

Al-Tayeb added that Al-Azhar’s openness to religious institutions inside and outside Egypt is an openness in order to search for human commonalities between the monotheistic religions, and to be attached to them in order to extricate humanity from its contemporary crisis, and liberate it from the oppression of the able, the oppression of the powerful, and the arrogance of the oppressors against the weak.
