The 25-year-old young man had his pants down when the police arrived.

The latter had been warned by residents alerted by the cries of the old lady.

The octogenarian was taken to the Coulommiers hospital center.

She has since been able to return home.

The suspect, for his part, was arrested in flagrante delicto and then placed in police custody.

Investigations continue

He was then presented to a judge of the public prosecutor's office in Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) on October 30.

The magistrate ordered his placement in pre-trial detention for acts of “aggravated rape on a vulnerable person”.

The investigation into the circumstances of the assault is not yet complete.

The homeless man was already unfavorably known to the police for acts of other nature.
