"The Government of the Republic of Panama ... regrets that the general elections in Nicaragua, held on November 7, 2021, did not provide the minimum guarantees necessary for a free, participatory, fair and transparent electoral process." said in a message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Panama.
The agency called on the Nicaraguan government to "fulfill its international obligations, immediately release political prisoners and restore all their civil and political rights."
