Was everything really better in the past?

Do we really wish for the times when ABBA set the charts and Thomas Gottschalk moved to America because in this country he could no longer go to the bakery because of his prominent nose?

Everything comes back.

Nothing is lost.

This has been confirmed anew these days.

While the Chancellor is leaving the big stage after sixteen years of Merkel continuity, others quite unexpectedly step back on the boards that they think mean the world.

Is that connected in the end?

That political Berlin expects us to be so new that we succumb to a ghostly longing for yesterday?

As you can hear, Gottschalk is said to have broken all audience records with his new edition of the classic car "Wetten, dass ..?"

And for the new songs from ABBA, which sound little different than forty years ago, a stadium was built in which avatars are supposed to create that seventies feeling.

Worse numbers than 2020

But not only lazy entertainment dinosaurs are falling back on us, the beastly coronavirus, which we thought we had overcome thanks to science, is back. With a force that makes us believe that we are in the wrong year. The numbers are worse today than in autumnus horribilis 2020. The fact that there is an alternative to lockdown today, however, does not mean that everyone reaches for the needle. The virus benefits from the political and virological jumble. And, through the division of Europe, also ensures something that seemed to have been overcome. While western countries such as Malta, Portugal, Iceland or Spain have vaccination rates of more than eighty percent, it is the other way around in Ukraine, Belarus and Bulgaria. There are 78 percent and more unvaccinated. Germany, just like in the Cold War between East and West, is at 67,6 percent vaccinated.

Correspondingly, the politicians who do not want a lockdown but also do not want a vaccination are rummaging around.

Why actually?

While vaccine skeptics refer to their robust immune system or alleged long-term consequences, the head of the Medical Association speaks of the "tyranny of the unvaccinated".

Anyone who wants to escape Gottschalk, ABBA or the virus dispute can now travel to North America again for the first time after twenty months of flightlessness.

Another return.

However, it can be assumed that ABBA will sing us in the on-board program.
