A man was violently hit by a car on Sunday evening around 11 p.m. on the edge of the Rennes bypass near Cleunay.

According to the first elements communicated by the firefighters, the victim was returning from the football match between Stade Rennais and Olympique Lyonnais which took place at Roazhon Park.

The man was visibly walking on the edge of the ring road accompanied by another person when he was struck by a vehicle.

Seriously injured, the victim was taken care of by the firefighters and transported by the SMUR in absolute urgency to the CHU Pontchaillou.

Shocked, the person accompanying him was taken to hospital.

The circumstances of the accident remain unclear.

The police opened an investigation to try to understand what happened.
