Frida is actually called something else and no longer lives in sheltered housing in southern Sweden, but lives completely openly in her hometown in Norrbotten.

She chooses to remain anonymous for the sake of her son.

The son's father abused Frida.

- He said that "I will never give up if you leave me, I will kill you" and hurt the son.

It was serious!

I understood that I had to flee so it was like me and my baby on my arm, she says.

Today she has no contact with the man she fled from, who now lives elsewhere.

The latest threat from him came a few years ago and Frida has been living with a new man for some time.

She says that the man together with their mutual friends makes her and her son safe.

- They have helped me a lot and they show up immediately if there should be anything.

I have also decided to refuse to be afraid anymore.

I'm not going to give it to him, she says.

Had to take the risk of living openly again

It is a strong Frida that SVT meets, but the road here has been long.

After the aggravated assault and death threats, she was given sheltered housing - or rather housing.

- It was difficult and tough.

Twice the authorities revealed my identity and where we were hiding.

My only chance was to move home again and live openly instead of being forced to flee to a new shelter in a new city where I did not know anyone, she says.

Women's shelters came to the rescue

What has been worst for you and your son?

- The betrayal of the authorities.

The only ones who have really saved me are the women's shelters, and that is where I believe the key is to help women in my situation, says Frida and continues:

- This is where you should invest the money, because that is where the experience is.

Those who work there understand what you are going through and they do not keep any journals that can scare away women.

In the video, Frida tells about the death threats, how the authorities betrayed and how she and her son feel today.
