The Ministry of Women and Child Development of India estimates that as of October 14, 2021, there are 1,776,902 children who are severely malnourished and 1,546,420 children are moderately malnourished.

Among the 81.9 million children counted in India this time, malnourished children accounted for about 4.04%.
