The Emirati student and content creator, Ahmed Al-Aidarous, designed an innovative passport, dedicating a page to each country that visits its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, with the aim of immortalizing the beautiful moments in which he lived.

Al-Aidarous’ unique vision of documenting the exceptional moments and the enjoyable discoveries that his tours reap in the halls of the World Exhibition, summarized in his innovation, which he called “Expo Passport”, to serve as a daily travel document for the largest international event, and a living outcome of the privacy of this human and knowledge experience.

He hopes his experience will inspire visitors and guests of the event from around the world in similar ways of documenting a “lifetime experience” that is open to innovation, learning and inspiration.

Al-Aidarous’ handling of his travel document between the exhibition wings since its opening in early October was not uncommon. He chose the principle of excellence in documenting the stations of his discoveries, and celebrating the record of his world tours between the pavilions in a special way, not only by collecting souvenirs and entry stamps to the pavilions, but by attaching them every time. The signature of the persons who accompanied him on the journey of discovery inside the pavilion, whether they were officials or cultural representatives. He stressed that "this step seems simple on the surface, but it is not without depth and symbolism for me, because it will enable me, at a later time, to immortalize my travel experiences and be fascinated by details of human cultures and civilizations and their unlimited innovations that I was able to discover." He added: “I tried to capture the moment through a record of documentary photos that reflect the privacy of each suite, or the privacy of my interactive experience inside it.I mean here an experience of learning from anyone who belongs to the culture of the place and tells me his stories, and attaching them to the seals of each country and the signatures of each guide who accompanied me on an exploration trip to his country, to reflect the uniqueness of each trip and inspire young people to be patient and delve deeper into exploring the features of each pavilion and enjoy diving in its details.” Ahmed continued: “I was impressed, for example, by the unique engineering design in the Bahraini and Emirati wings, so I documented it in souvenir photos. As for the Korea Pavilion, my experience was with the Korean (Romen) who works in the pavilion.” He said: «I lived in this suite unique and enjoyable human experiences, and I rushed to document them in a wonderful image that will remain close to my heart. As for Bhutan, this small country, I was amazed to discover that it is one of the most environmentally friendly countries in the world.” Regarding the step of collecting the largest number of seals and completing the “Expo” flights in record time, Al-Aidarous said:"I was not interested in collecting the largest number of seals, nor taking advantage of the advantages that they offer, as much as I was interested in the pleasure of traveling and traveling between all these countries and discovering them from within, and investing this global event to learn about the past, present and future of countries that I may not have heard of before." He added, "I try as much as possible to organize my time and maintain my academic commitments at the university, to find enough time to visit the exhibition four to five times each week. I have visited 24 pavilions, where I interacted with people from multiple cultures, and I went through different topics with them, and learned a lot."

He continued, "I felt the similarities between the Emirates and other countries, and I changed many stereotypes about my culture, and I changed more images about the cultures of others.

This is something I always find exciting and encouraging to discover more, because I strongly believe that if a person is not a researcher, he will not excel.”
