Of these, thousands to 10,000 are estimated to be from the Korean Peninsula, which was then a Japanese colony.
In Hiroshima, another atomic bombing area, a memorial to Korean victims of the atomic bombing was erected in the local Peace Memorial Park in 1970, and a memorial ceremony was held every year on August 5, the day before the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. could not be opened.
In response, Mindan Nagasaki Headquarters requested to provide a site for the erection of a memorial to Korean victims in May 1994, but it was rejected for various reasons, and it took 27 years to build today.
