November 06, 2021: Formula 1 has extended its contract for the Chinese Grand Prix until 2025, despite the cancellation of the 2022 race due to strict anti-Covid restrictions imposed by Beijing. For the same reason, the Grand Prix was also not run in 2020 and 2021. "

We are very pleased that this new agreement will ensure that our fans in China will be able to watch Formula 1 racing in the coming years", reads a Note.

"Although we are disappointed not to be able to include China in the calendar for 2022, China will return to the calendar as soon as conditions permit," added F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali. The Chinese Grand Prix, which has been running since 2004, will be replaced by that of Emilia Romagna in Imola.
