New feminicide in Marseille?

A couple in their fifties was found dead this Saturday at the end of the afternoon at his Marseille home, killed by guns, we learned from a police source.

The two victims were found at their home, in the 13th arrondissement, in the northern districts of the city.

"The exact circumstances" of this tragedy are still unknown, acknowledged the duty commissioner at the Departmental Directorate of Public Security of Bouches-du-Rhône.

"But it is probably the husband who first killed his wife and killed himself afterwards," said the policeman, thus evoking the thesis of a feminicide followed by a suicide.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, 146 women were victims of feminicides, that is to say killed by their spouse or ex-spouse, in 2019, and 102 in 2020.
