The unrest in Ethiopia continues as rebel groups unite and Tigray troops move towards the capital Addis Ababa, reports the news agency AP.

Now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is urging Swedes to leave Ethiopia, they write on their website.

At the same time, state-run media are calling for the mobilization of former military personnel to stop a military offensive, writes Reuters.

Several of the groups in the alliance have armed forces.

One of them is the Tigrean People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which has been fighting government forces for over a year.

"We see the need to work together and gather the forces for a secure change of power," the groups wrote in a statement.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also writes in a press release that they are asking Norwegians to leave Ethiopia.

They write that the airport in Addis Ababa receives Norwegian citizens who can travel by commercial flight.

The United States also on Friday urged all US citizens to leave Ethiopia because of the precarious situation.
