The Moscow POC told RT that they received similar complaints from two more prisoners of the only female pre-trial detention center in the capital - SIZO No. 6 of the Moscow Federal Penitentiary Service.

“More than three weeks ago, a neurologist examined me due to severe back pain and recommended that I be hospitalized in the Matrosskaya Tishina SIZO hospital.

The doctor said that in the conditions of the medical unit of our pre-trial detention center, it is impossible to make a diagnosis - there is no equipment, ”a representative of the commission quoted Ivanova as saying.

The interlocutor of RT noted that the administration of the isolation ward did not explain to the POC members the reasons why the patient is still not hospitalized.

Another prisoner made a similar complaint about the actual denial of medical assistance to human rights defenders on condition of anonymity.

“Even before my arrest, I was undergoing a medical examination, but they did not manage to diagnose me due to a lung disease.

There is no pulmonologist in SIZO No. 6, I applied to the medical unit with a request for hospitalization, but to no avail.

For three months now I have been suffocating, "an RT interlocutor quotes her.

At the same time, the arrested person does not exclude that during her stay in the pre-trial detention center she could have been ill with COVID-19 - in May she was in a cell, among hospitalized women, but the rest of the PCR test was not taken, and the analysis for the presence of antibodies in the isolation ward is also not done.

An arrested woman who has suffered a coronavirus and suffers from a number of serious chronic diseases is also asking for examination at the prison hospital.

Earlier, inmates of the women's pre-trial detention center had already complained to the PMC about the poor quality of medical care.
