The Sami storytelling tradition has for centuries carried stories from generation to generation and the series' producer, Marit Kuhmunen Blom, wants this to continue.

- I heard many of the stories when I was little and it is important that the Sami storytelling tradition is allowed to continue, albeit with new technology.

Available in several languages

The animated series will be available in a number of minority languages, including Northern and Southern Sámi, Meänkieli, Yiddish and Romani, but also in Swedish.

- The stories are exciting for everyone.

We want to reach all children.

Not just to the Sami, says Marit Kuhmunen Blom, who lives in Östersund but has her roots in the Sami culture, at the very top of Sweden.

SVT's graphics department

At SVT's department for graphics, SVT Design, several people have been involved in the work.

It is also the first time that SVT has created a completely self-produced animated series.

"Jassa children and the gift of the gods"
