Who is the mother of the dead baby who was found more than 20 years ago in a garbage bag on a dirt road near Büdingen?

In the Büdingen district of Lorbach, preparations are underway for a DNA series examination, from which the investigators hope to make progress in clearing up the alleged homicide.

Around 600 women from the vicinity of the city in the Wetterau district, who were between 13 and 30 years old at the time the body was found, had been asked to voluntarily provide a saliva sample for the examination this weekend.

This Friday the police want to show media representatives the premises in Büdingen-Lorbach and answer questions about the planned DNA screening.

Baby put in sack

On April 1, 1999, a walker found the body of a newborn girl wrapped in plastic bags on a dirt road between Büdingen-Vonhausen and Büdingen-Lorbach.

Since the sack is believed to have been in the area for several months, the delivery could have been in late 1998, according to a police brochure.

Despite extensive investigations, it has not yet been possible to unequivocally clarify the exact circumstances of the death or the deposition of the corpse, as well as the identity of the child.

They want to leave no stone unturned to find the mother of the child and therefore plan the series test.

The dead baby was buried without a name at the time.

In order to express the girl's personality and identity, the investigators had given her the name Sabrina, the police said.
