Several of the men who have been convicted now choose to appeal their sentences to the Supreme Court.

In order for that case to even be taken up, a decision on leave to appeal is first required.

The charges and crimes are based on the murder that took place in Väster during the summer of 2020, when a man in his 30s was shot to death.

Several men were charged and then convicted of murder, stamping out murder, aggravated weapon crime and serious drug crime.

But this has since been adjusted and several of the men's sentences have been changed after it was tried in the Court of Appeal.

Released on several points

Among other things, a 40-year-old man was singled out as a leader in preparations for the murder of the 30-year-old man who was shot in Väster in the summer of 2020. In Örebro District Court, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison, including preparation for murder and stamping for murder.

But now the Göta Court of Appeal acquits him on those counts and reduces the man's prison sentence to seven years.

None of the people convicted have been convicted of the murder of the 30-year-old man.
