The soldiers of the British Royal Navy were able to force the American forces to submit to a shameful surrender, during a battle that took place between the two, but this did not happen in reality, but during a simulated exercise, called the “Green Dagger”.

British commandos took control of American forces to try out a new combat structure in California.

The British forces were able to eliminate almost the entire units of the American forces during these mock combat exercises, which lasted for five days.

And the US forces asked to "reset" the exercise in the middle of it, because of the heavy losses incurred in these war games, according to the Telegraph.

The exercise is used to test US Marine units before they are deployed abroad.

The area used for the exercise is more than 3,500 square kilometers of mountainous and desert terrain, and there are also urban places with actors, who do not have to follow a particular scenario, but rather represent the role of civilians.

"During this deployment, our focus has been on changing the rules of the game in all aspects of the commando force, to create a disproportionate effect against a free-thinking opponent," said British force commander Colonel Andy Dow.

The "Green Dagger" exercise is attended by military forces from a number of countries.

And the Royal Marines were able to achieve this victory by targeting the headquarters of the American forces and their valuable equipment, and crippling the counterattacks of the Americans.

British artillery also focused on destroying enemy vehicles and artillery positions.

American forces were eventually defeated by a long-range British commando attack, backed by fighter jets.

The exercises concluded with a US attack at the last minute, but it was repulsed, leaving the Royal Marines in control of more than 65 percent of the entire battlefield, after British forces began with less than 20 percent.

British forces used the exercise to try the new coastal response group structure, upon which the future commando force would be formed.

Under reforms directed by Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, British commandos were to become a more flexible and robust fighting force.

After restructuring the amphibious forces, Britain will have two LRGs, each centered around an existing unit of Royal Marines.
