After Virginia election defeat, Biden calls on Congress to pass big reforms

After the warning received Tuesday, November 2 in several local elections, American Democrats are now seeking the right answer to give voters one year before the midterm elections.

And the interpretation of the message is that they want results.

People want things to be done.

This is what Joe Biden perceives after the much commented defeat of his candidate for governor of Virginia.

Tirelessly, the US president calls on elected Democrats to adopt his plans for infrastructure and for social spending and the climate.

People are upset and they are in doubt because of a lot of things,

" insisted the tenant of the White House.

From Covid-19 to school, to employment, to a whole bunch of things like the price of gasoline. And so if I manage to push through my plan, a lot of things will improve quickly. People need to breathe. They are oppressed. And I believe that we need to provide them with results to change their standard of living and let them breathe a little.

, the social spending plan has been enriched with two chapters that had previously been abandoned in negotiations, starting with the possibility granted to public social insurance companies to negotiate the price of drugs.

What is for the moment refused to them to the great satisfaction of the pharmaceutical companies.

Another advance is paid leave for family or health reasons.

Centrist senators still ask for time

These two chapters are carried by progressive elected officials in the House of Representatives, who know that these measures are among the most popular of Joe Biden's promises.

These are also two chapters that West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is wary of.

He and the other centrist senators always ask for time to study the law.

But time, Joe Biden suggests he has less and less to produce results before the midterm elections a year from now.
