A TER train struck a group of about fifty migrants on Thursday in Calais (Pas-de-Calais), leaving at least one dead and three injured, according to our colleagues from France Bleu Nord and the vice-president for mobility from the Hauts-de-France region.

According to our colleagues, the accident took place around 6.30 p.m., in the Beau Marais district in Calais.

The train, which provided the Dunkirk-Calais connection, could not have avoided people on the tracks.

Franck Dhersin, vice-president of mobility, transport infrastructure and ports at the Hauts-de-France regional council, spoke on Twitter of a "dramatic assessment".
